Person

Source PDF page(s): 16 (of raw/specs/MMS features v2.5.pdf) User Guide section: §2.1 (of raw/specs/MMS_UserGuide_v2.5.0.0.docx)

Summary: Manage user (person) accounts — create login credentials, assign roles and permissions, control device access, and lock/unlock accounts within MMS.

Status: shipped

Why

Person records define who can log into MMS and what they can access. Each person has independently configured system permissions (MMS Access) and device-level permissions (Device Access). See ../specs/mms-features-v2.5 §4 and ../specs/mms-userguide-v2.5 §2.1.

What

  • Create, edit, delete user accounts.
  • Configure login credentials (Login ID, Password) and account active/deactive time via MMS Security Access.
  • MMS Access tab: assign roles and permissions for access to MMS modules and features.
  • Device Access tab: configure user-level permissions for assigned devices.
  • Lock or unlock accounts using the Suspend Access switch.
  • View last-login activity and number of devices managed by each user.

Steps

Create a person

  1. Navigate to the Person page.
  2. Click Add Person.
  3. Click the MMS Security Access button:
  4. Enter Login ID and Password.
  5. Configure active time and deactive time (optional — controls the window during which login is allowed).
  6. In the MMS Access tab: assign roles and permissions for MMS system access.
  7. In the Device Access tab: configure device-level permissions.
  8. Click Save.

Update or manage an existing person

  1. Select the user from the list.
  2. Update as needed:
  3. MMS Security Access: update credentials or active/deactive period.
  4. MMS Access tab: modify system access permissions.
  5. Device Access tab: update device-level permissions.
  6. To lock or unlock the account: toggle the Suspend Access switch inside the MMS Security Access screen.
  7. Delete the account if it is no longer required.

Notes

  • Access permissions determine which features and data the user can access.
  • Device access settings control what operations the user can perform at the device level.
  • Setting active/deactive time automatically controls login availability — the account becomes inaccessible outside the configured window.
  • Changes may take effect immediately.
