Device (payment terminal)¶
Short definition: A payment terminal registered in MMS, identified by serial number and hardware profile, assignable to company/location/merchant and configured via Device Setup.
Full meaning¶
In MMS documentation, device and terminal refer to the same managed hardware asset. Devices are registered in the Device Registry (manual entry, maxstore API, or CSV), must conform to Hardware Management definitions (brand, model, OS/firmware versions), then assigned and configured through Device Manager. Do not confuse with per-device operational logs (Device Setup → Logs) vs system audit-log.
